Behind every great community is a great library.  Our library is a great asset to the town, providing a free, safe location to learn and grow.  A wide range of services and programs are available for all our residents, from the earliest newborns to school age children, teens, and adults.  Our vibrant library is one of the things that makes Cheshire such a great place to live.

Behind every great library is a great Friends group.  Our Friends of the Cheshire Library provides funding for the library to present fantastic concerts, children and adult programs, movies, museum passes, and much more.  None of these enriching programs are funded by taxpayer revenue.  They are all funded by the Friends book sales and memberships.

Behind every great Friends group is a great community.  We wouldn’t be able to hold semi-annual book sales without the overwhelming support from the community.  Gently used book donations arrive year-round, and our dedicated volunteers sort and box them between sales.  Our recent sale was a tremendous success due to our great community!  Members of the Friends, Cheshire Rotary, MechaRams Robotics and the B.R.A.V.E. clubs from the high school helped with the book sale set up.  Three adjacent restaurants, Cheshire Pizza & Ale, Vespucci’s Restaurant, and Yougu Hibachi and Sushi Lounge all donated gift certificates for our daily door prizes.  Stop and Shop donated balloons and the Big Y donated bags.  Our Friends members manned the book sale for 5 days and helped customers who knew a great bargain on books.

Thanks to our great community, the Friends recent book sale was a huge success! The Friends will continue to fund fantastic programs at the library which enrich our lives, and make Cheshire a great place to live and work.

Sincerely,
Tom and Deb Morck
