New! Mobile Hotspots now available for checkout to Cheshire residents!

  • Mobile hotspots are devices that provide mobile broadband wireless Internet access. They’re easy to use and require no maintenance other than charging.
  • You can check one out from the library and have Internet access at home on tablets, laptops, or desktop computers. They use a cell signal and you connect to them as you would any wifi network.

Hotspots are available to Cheshire residents at the Main Desk of the library. Each bag includes:

  • 1 hotspot
  • 1 charging cable
  • 1 wall adapter
  • 1 case
  • 1 Getting Started guide

1. Hotspots may be borrowed by Cheshire residents only.
2. Hotspots must be returned to the main desk of the Cheshire Public Library during open hours (NOT in the bookdrop).
3. Hotspots may be checked out for two weeks and renewed once.
4. Cheshire residents may place holds on hotspots.
5. Hotpots on hold must be picked up within 3 days.

Other Services

Bring your laptop or other device and connect to the Cheshire Public Library network. It’s available anywhere in the building. No password required.

Read documents with ease using the library’s in-house magnifier.
Available in the Reference Department.

Computers & Technology

Public Computers – PCs and Apple computers are available on the main and lower levels.

iPads – The iPads in the Children’s Room offer pre-literacy apps that support the Every Child Ready to Read initiative.

Meeting Space

The Mary Baldwin Room, on our main level, can hold up to 170 people.

The Moss Room, on the third floor, is good for groups of up to 10.

The Mary Baldwin Room & Moss Room MUST be reserved in advance. There is no charge for local 501(c)(3) organizations, local recognized civic & service groups, local athletic or sports-affiliated groups. Fees apply to other organizations. See our Meeting Room Policy & Application

Study Rooms, on the lower level, are perfect for two people. Drop in or reserve up to one week in advance. Call 203-272-2245, and press 4 to speak with a librarian about reserving a study room.
