Women's Work in WWII

6:30pm Monday, March 18

Presenter John Cilio, will tell the story of how the United States faced daunting challenges after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Women working in WWII factories and serving in the armed forces destroyed the myths about women workers. In the 1950s and 60s their cause gained traction that brought legislation that has helped to change the workplace forever.

Tweens Try: Sci-fi and Freeze-Dried (Grades 4-6)

Try a variety of freeze dried foods and chat about sci-fi books. You might find some new favorites!

Curb Appeal for Pollinator Gardens

6:30pm Wednesday, March 20

Everyone is planting pollinator gardens. They contain such valuable native plants that bees, butterflies, and all sorts of creatures need. BUT, they can look a little messy. In this workshop, Nancy DuBrule-Clemente of Natureworks Garden Center will explain basic design principles and demonstrate easy-to-implement methods to make your pollinator gardens look beautiful and fit into any neighborhood setting.

Speed Friending for Older Adults

Are you an older adult looking to form new friendships? Is your house a little too quiet nowadays, but you’re still too young to enjoy the freedom of retirement? Try out speed friending! Adults ages 50-65 are invited to have short conversations with new people in a fun, fast style akin to speed dating. See if you can make a platonic match!

Registration required. This event is for adults ages 50-65.
